The Valley Center Trails Association is dedicated to connecting the community by advocating for the development of multi-use trails and footpaths and promoting their use. Our guide is the county’s Community Trails Master Plan for Valley Center.

Currently, Valley Center has far fewer trails than are optimal for such a large area. Additional trails bring value to our community by enhancing property values and provide a better quality of life for residents by giving people the opportunity to get exercise, connect with the natural world and connect with their community.

For development of pathways and trails on County owned property and along public roads, we operate in conjunction with various divisions of San Diego County government. Trails and Pathways on private property involve property owners or developers donating a “trails easement” that allows limited public access to designated trails while at the same time indemnifying property owners from liability. More information can be found on our Donations Page (See How to donate your land for Trails, Indemnity Ordinance and Easement Dedication Information).

Valley Center Trails Association Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt public benefit organization. The VCTA has its own Board of Directors and maintains its own finances.
